Iran responds to fuel swap offer Iran has formally responded to a nuclear fuel swap proposal backed by the world's major powers with a counteroffer effectively rejecting their demand that Tehran quickly export most of the material it would need to make a warhead in exchange for fuel rods for its Tehran research reactor. The IAEA-brokered talks in Vienna came up with a draft proposal that would take 70 percent of Iran's low-enriched uranium to reduce its stockpile of material that could be enriched to a higher level, and possibly be used to make nuclear weapons. That uranium would be returned about a year later as refined fuel rods, which can power reactors but cannot be readily turned into weapons-grade material. Diplomats from two of those big powers said Tuesday Iran's formal counterproposal was essentially a rehash of an already publicly floated offer that fell far short of the six nations' expectations. In its submission, Iran was offering to exchange enriched uranium only on domestic soil and only simultaneously for research reactor fuel.. That would delay any exchange for at least a year or so — the time needed to make the rods for the Tehran reactor. And that, in turn would give Iran time to increase its enriched uranium stockpile to a level where it would still have enough to make a nuclear weapon even if it exported the 1.2 tons (1,100 kilograms) specified in the original draft agreement. Around 2,200 pounds of low-enriched uranium are needed to produce enough weapons-grade uranium for a single nuclear warhead, according to experts. Iran is believed to have well over that amount in its stockpiles and its thousands of centrifuges churn out new material by the day. The United

خبر داده است. France Honors Camus France
has been celebrating the life and works of writer and philosopher Albert Camus,
who died 50 years ago this month. Born in 1913 in French colonial Algeria,
Camus grew up in poverty. His mother was an illiterate cleaning lady. His father
died in the trenches of World War I. One of Camus' teachers discovered his
brilliance. In 1942, Camus' novel The Stranger brought him instant international
acclaim. Soon after, during World War II, Camus joined the French Resistance.
He risked his life editing its newspaper, Combat. He was awarded the Nobel Prize
in Literature in 1957.Camus' tomb lies in the tiny cemetery of the Provencal village of Lourmarin, where the Algerian-born writer lived briefly before being killed in an automobile accident in January 1960 at the age of 46. Camus had his own stands on Marxism and communism. Long before anyone else, Camus said that the big mistake of left-wing intellectuals in Europe was to stand against Nazism but to forget to stand against the other totalitarian movement — that is communism. And it took him a long time to be forgiven for that. The existentialist writer Jean-Paul Sartre severed relations with Camus after his denunciation of Russian communism. Though he still considered himself from the political left, Camus was increasingly at odds with Paris' 1950s, Left Bank intellectual scene. Like the heroes of his novels — who confronted society, injustice and death — Camus said he, too, felt like an outsider. "Within intellectual society, I don't know why, but I always feel like I'm guilty of something. It seems that I'm always breaking one of the rules of the clan," he said in a television interview. Camus remains to be one of France’s most renowned writers and philosophers of the modern time. Health Embrace Your Body The typical images of thin, tanned, toned bodies that pervade television, billboards and magazines often make it difficult for those of us who don't resemble those images to feel good about our bodies. This is unfortunate for so many reasons; in particular, feeling bad about our bodies can contribute to depression, lack of pleasure in physical activities and a defeated attitude about making healthy changes. Once we start to care for our bodies with tenderness, instead of with anger or repulsion, a curious thing often happens: We begin to want to make positive changes in our lifestyle. Instead of the impetus for change coming from a negative place ("My body is so gross, I need to go on a diet!"), the desire comes from a positive place ("I love this body.”) But even after making the important and life-affirming changes such as eating a healthier diet and getting regular exercise, it is important to focus on other positive benefits of healthy living--aside from weight loss. Our culture is too focused on “weight”. Our focus should be away from the scale and onto “health." The health benefits of eating nutritiously and getting regular exercise include lowered cholesterol, better glucose control (for those with diabetes), more restful sleep, the ability to do more things in daily life (climb the stairs without getting winded, bike to work), lower blood pressure, decreased need for certain medications, and more energy throughout the day. Add to that list an improved mood and a more positive outlook, and those folks in their "skinny jeans" just may get jealous of how good you're feeling. Funny
